Passport validity and the 6-month rule

Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry or travel. Some also require a certain number of blank pages for stamps.

Check your passport's expiry date well ahead of your trip. If it's close to expiring, renew it early — processing can take time, and an expired or soon-to-expire passport can stop you boarding.

Requirements differ by destination, so confirm the exact rule with the official source for the country you're visiting. When in doubt, more validity is always safer than less.
